Anatomy
Listrei are humanoid, horned creatures with short fur covering their bodies, pawed or hooved feet, a stinger tipped tail, and wings of light that sprout from gems imbedded in their shoulder blades. Culturally, Listrei are known to shave different patterns and designs into their fur, exposing the skin beneath in shows of both fashion and societal status. All Listrei have at least one central horn on their forehead, with rare cases of a Listrei growing additional horns at either side of their central horn, and at least one recorded instance of a Listrei growing a total of five horns. Listrei feature long, soft ears with a split tip and two soft lobes at the base.
Listrei tails range in length and style, but will always have a long, retractable stinger hidden in the long fur at the tip. This stinger produces a toxin of varying intensities and qualities depending on the Listrei. It is not unheard of for noble families to specifically breed to maintain or achieve a preferred toxin within their bloodlines. Toxins can cause a range of reactions, from mild rashes or fevers, to necrosis of the skin, paralysis, or even death. Some few Listrei may be 'blessed' with a toxin that acts as an aphrodisiac instead. All Listrei tails can be 'milked', and artisans will use their toxins to make a variety of poisons, antidotes, potions, and even medicinal tonics.
On their back, Listrei have a pair of smooth, round gemstones that grow in right over their shoulder blades. These gems can be circular or oval in shape, but will always be smooth unless the Listrei has had them professionally cut. Cut gems are a sign of affluence, as the procedure is expensive and carries a high risk of cracking them gem if the smith is not careful. These gems begin to emit light in various wing-like shapes as the Listrei reaches adulthood. Prior to this, they merely emit a dim glow. If these gems are cracked or broken, the light emitted will be fractured and broken, and the magic contained within will leak out slowly until the gems become dull and cease glowing. While there is no impact on their overall health, the Listrei will no longer be capable of flight.

Listrei can have different fur textures and style, and are known to put as much care into styling and tending to their leg, arm, and neck fur as they do in shaving their intricate body designs.
A popular maintained style is the 'wooly' look, resembling the thick, fluffy wool of sheep.

Back
Gemstones
Listrei can have up to 3 sets of gems on their back to produce up to 6 wings total. These gems project a soft light that forms their luminescent wings and allows them to fly. Broken and 'dead', lightless gems will not grant them flight, nor will they project wings.

The largest gemstones on their backs can be cut into delicate and intricate designs, or to resemble precious gem cuts. This is only done by the wealthiest Listrei, as one slip up could crack or dim a gem and leave them grounded.

Additionally, cracked and broken gems are susceptible to Crystal Rot and other crystal/gem related ailments.

Ears

Small

Long

Flop

Listrei ears will always have a split tip and squishy lobes. In addition to these traits, Listrei will often have whiskers with bulbous, glowing tips, but they are prone to falling out, or some Listrei may even pluck them by choice. These whiskers will always grow back over time.

Tails

Uni
Listrei tails can vary in length and fur style (i.e. straight, curly, wooly, braided, etc..) so long as they are no longer than the Listrei's full height.
Kirin's Blessing

Antlers

Whiskers
Antlers
Antlers, or Kirin Horns, will sometimes grow in place of a Listrei's usual horn(s). They will always have thorns or 'branches', and can vary from short and small, to big and long, and can have large flat portions, akin to a moose.

Scales
Listrei with the Kirin's Blessing will ALWAYS have scales on their body. These scales can appear anywhere on their bodies, from their face, to their shins, or the tips of their tails.

Whiskers
Some Listrei may gain thick whiskers along their cheeks as part of the Kirin's Blessing. These whiskers are sensitive, and are soft and squishy, similar to Listrei ear lobes. they are typically the same colour as their scales.

Hooves
While not exclusively part of the Kirin's Blessing, Listrei with the blessing are more often found with hooves (both cloven and uncloven.)

Creiovyn
Anatomy

Creiovyn are a sub-species of Listrei capable of shape-shifting magics. They are only capable of changing certain aspects of their appearances, however.

No matter what form they take, Creiovyn cannot change the following traits:

Horn Type
Feet Type

No matter what form they take, Creiovyn will always have the following traits and aspects to their appearance:

Light Gem(s) on their Back
Light Wings
Lobed Ears and Split Tip Ears

Creiovyn can have any type of animal features, however the soft lobes and split ear tips are always part of the ear designs, and they will always have a retractable stinger at the end of their tail. They area also not capable of producing additional limbs or tails.

Society

Creiovyn have higher ranks in society due to their magical abilities, much like Roseilorn. They will often take on a more anthropomorphic appearance to ensure they stand out among crowds just to show their status.
Creiovyn are born 'randomly' into families. No one is sure where they come from since they are often born to non-Creiovyn parents. This is typically seen as a gift, especially if the family is of the working class, as their child will gain them a higher status amongst nobility.
